What is a Lower Lingual Arch?
The lower lingual arch is a single orthodontic wire located in the lower arch. This appliance lines the inside surfaces of the teeth, generally from molar to molar.

Drs. Brown use the lingual arch for stabilization, space maintenance, expansion, or anchorage.

How Does it Work?
Dr. Brown will cement the appliance to your molars using bands and a stabilizing wire. The appliance will prevent the molars and other teeth (in the lower arch) from shifting forward into space that is needed for other permanent teeth.

Care and Maintenance
Be sure to brush and clean all parts of the appliance. Please do not
play with your appliance, as this can loosen the bands. If a band
becomes loose, please call our office so we can schedule an
appointment for re-cementing. Loose bands on your appliance do
not constitute and emergency.
